I had been to Hawaii five times, the last four times to work. It's a long way to go - as John Denver's song says, "a long time to hang in the sky" - particularly when not in the cockpit. Another trip was met with my dis-interest, but I knew that one of Sue's desires was to see some real blue water, and that everyone in her family, but her, had been to Hawaii. I had to say, "Yes", and after a terrific week on Oahu, I'm so glad I did!!
St Louis sends us off with a storm | And we settle into our room with a view |
It's a working trip | But the view from the worksite is fabulous! |
As Gene works, Sue enjoys the Pacific | And the wildlife |
Evening brings a sunset to savor | Sue finds her "Blue Water" at Hanauma Bay |
Another day takes us snorkeling there | A new experience for us both |
We watch the ocean spray through a blowhole | And wonder what this really means |
We weekend at Mike & Wendy's cottage | With the quaint outdoor shower |
They feed us at their world famous restaurant | Where all the North Shore surfers eat |
It's close to Waimea Falls | And all its beauty |
Saturday night is the Luau | The pig roasted all day |
And we were entertained | While we ate into the night |
The hula girls always had a smile | And we did too |
Giant sea turtles filled the north shore beaches | And bright colors filled the Dole Plantation |
We locate a geocache | And spend one last sunset on North Shore |
Then it's back to work & a cute Honolulu cottage | And wave Hawaii Aloha |
